PANJIM: The Principal District and Sessions Court on Thursday dismissed the bail application of Sukhwinder Singh citing that he was responsible for the death of a lady and putting two others to the risk of getting addicted to contraband substances.
Singh had applied for a bail in the NDPS Act case related to the death of BJP leader Sonali Phogat.
He had prayed for release after getting arrested under Sections 22(b), 25 and 29 of the NDPS Act for allegedly possessing 2.2 grams of MDMA, at a beach shack, Anjuna. The prosecution while opposing the bail application said that the accused is connected with the murder case in which a chargesheet is filed, and it was found that the applicant was responsible in giving drugs/psychotropic substance to Sonali Phogat, which resulted in her death.
The prosecution also mentioned that Singh was forcing the two other women, who had accompanied him, to consume the psychotropic substance and thus putting them at risk of getting addicted to it.
