Accused of misbehaviour at Goa Dental College, Fernandes wants inquiry against Dean

Denies all charges and instead blames the interns of allegedly mistreating him; Says he is free to file a plaint to the Dental Council of India to de-license the Dean

Panjim: John Fernandes who was earlier accused of misbehaving and abusing two dental interns, has demanded for an enquiry against Dean of the Goa Dental College Dr Ida De Noronha De Ataide.

Fernandes has also denied all the charges levelled against him and instead blamed the interns of allegedly mistreating him in the hospital.

“..I am only demanding Departmental Enquiry and to find out as to how this Dean has been promoted by superseding other eligible candidate with a promise that the Dean’s post will be rotated like a Panchayat post in violation of Government Service Rules and I am free to file a plaint to the Dental Council of India to de-license her and I have further option to proceed against her for civil liability for damage and defamation,” he said in a letter to the Chief Secretary.

A week ago, the Dean had complained that the behaviour of the patient was unacceptable and hurling abuses was an insult to the modesty of the interns. Fernandes, on the other hand, has denied allegations claiming that he was mistreated. He also alleged that the Dean has deliberately filed the case against him as he claimed, “When the police informed the Dean that she does not have any case to merit FIR nor is there a complaint from the alleged victims, the two interns, she only said that she wants to “teach a lesson to politicians to behave.” She leaked the information to the media.”
