Action against Babush, Mauvin after Parliament session

PANJIM: The Congress on Tuesday reiterated that the party high command would act against party rebels, including MLAs Atanasio Monserrate and Mauvin Godinho, soon after the ongoing Parliamentary session, which concludes March 20.

“The final action against the party dissidents is just a matter of days away. The party high command is busy with the Parliamentary session. After that, the order will come,” Congress secretary Durgadas Kamat told media persons Tuesday afternoon.
He said that the party executive has already resolved to expel Monserrate, while Mauvin is a long-time rebel.
Talking tough against party dissidents, the Congress executive committee last month resolved to expel Monserrate from the party for his anti-party activities during the recently held Panjim by-elections, with Congress losing the seat. The party executive has also decided to debar Monserrate from re-entering the party under any circumstances.
Congress has also decided that the party rebels would not be entertained in future and no party ticket would be granted to them.
