Active COVID cases drop for second consecutive day

PANJIM: For the second day in a row, active COVID-19 cases in the State dropped in the wake of good number of daily recoveries as against the new single day cases. However, six persons died in last 24 hours with two deaths recorded within an hour of admission. 

The Mortality Bulletin of Goa released by the Health Department on Sunday mentions that of the six COVID-19 deaths, a 45-year-old patient did not have any co-morbid condition. 

The COVID-19 graph in the State fortunately dropped in terms of active cases. Although 428 new cases were reported on Sunday, the total active count dropped to 4839, which was 4923 on the preceding day and over 5000 on October 2. 

The total recoveries stand at 30,033 with 506 COVID-19 patients recovering in last 24 hours. The recovery rate is 85.01 per cent and the total confirmed cases stand at 35,328. 

On Sunday, 92 persons were hospitalised for undergoing treatment for COVID-19 while 262 opted for home isolation.
