MAPUSA: The Revolutionary Goans opine that the ongoing work for widening the highway (NH-17) has become a matter of concern for those traveling on this road especially at night and demand that the contractor be booked on Thursday.
Taking cognizance of a report that appeared in Herald on Wednesday “Work on NH-17: A death trap for commuters” the NGO has expressed their dismay in the matter and the lives of commuters at risk on this stretch from the new flyover at Bastora up to the Sangolda junction.
With construction work being carried out in patches, the movement of heavy vehicles on this route has become extremely haphazard.
Founder member of Revolutionary Goans Manoj Parab condemned the contractor for the haphazard work which is posing danger to the commuters.
