Actress rescued from hotel

PANJIM: A Bollywood actress, who had a guest appearance in the Salman Khan-starrer Dabangg-2, was on Tuesday rescued from a starred hotel, where she was allegedly brought for prostitution.

The Panjim police have preferred to keep the name of the actress under wraps, claiming she is a victim in the case. However, a woman pimp identified as Ayesha Sayyad (40) was arrested under various sections of the Immoral Traffic (Prevention) Act for running the illicit racket.
It is learnt that the pimp had charged Rs 3 lakh for the actress, who has also acted in Telugu movies. The customer, a police decoy, had reportedly made an advance payment to the accused. “The accused woman is operating in various starred hotels in Goa and the neighbouring states. We had information about her operations here following which we planted a decoy and struck a deal with her. The trap was successful,” PI Siddhant Shirodkar said.
The two women had flown to Goa via Mumbai on Tuesday morning, a little before police raided the hotel. Police are also on the lookout for another accused who managed to escape during the raid.
A statement released on behalf of a high-end luxury hotel chain group states that it respects the privacy of its guests and it allows them the right to have visitors to their rooms. “We have a zero tolerance towards illegal activity and will fully support any police investigation if they require our assistance,” it reads.
