PANJIM: Two days after Herald reported on the non-payment of salaries to eight mamlatdar and joint mamlatdar, the State government swung into action and taken corrective measures.
The officers were unpaid for the last six months as their ad hoc appointment which expired in July 2018 was not extended nor the appointments were regularised.
However, the government granted another one year extensions to their ad hoc promotions upto June 30, 2019.
An order issued by Harish Adconkar, Under Secretary Personnel-I says that the Governor of Goa is pleased to extend the ad-hoc promotions of mamlatdars, joint mamlatdar and assistant director of civil supplies.
Sources reveal the new extensions will pave way for clearance of the officer’s salaries.
On Wednesday the Goa Human Rights Commission had also taken cognizance of the matter and issued notices to the government.
