PANJIM: The Directorate of Tribal Welfare in association with the United Tribal Association Alliance (UTAA) will organise the second edition of ‘Adivasi Vidhyathi Sammelan’ on November 19 at Rajiv Gandhi Kalamandir Ponda.
The event is organised in the memory of late Mangesh Gaonkar and late Deelip Velip, the tribal leaders who lost their lives in a riot on May 25, 2011. The protest, which turned violent, was for fulfillment of various pending demands including reservation.
Minister for Tribal Welfare Govind Gaude said that the conceptual idea behind the sammelan is to help the ST students to unleash their potentials and be enlightened with the inspirational journey of individuals.
