The Administrative Tribunal on Thursday issued a stay order on the scheduled demolition of an illegal shed constructed by Ms Global Ispaat near Cuncolim Industrial Estate. Originally set for Thursday, the demolition order, issued by the Salcete Deputy Collector and Sub-Divisional Officer (SDO) in Margao, has faced a legal challenge.
The Deputy Collector’s office had granted permission to dismantle the entire unauthorized shed structure, constructed with GI pipes. The initial directive mandated the removal of the structure and restoration of the land to its original condition within the Cuncolim Industrial Estate.
This legal saga stems from a complaint filed by Leader of the Opposition, Yuri Alemao, who brought the matter to the attention of the South Goa Collector. Alemao, vocal about addressing issues related to illegalities, encroachments, and pollution in the Cuncolim Industrial Estate, expressed his longstanding commitment to combating these challenges.
