PONDA: As the water level began to rise furiously, the Adpoi Ferry ramp was submerged under water during the high tide putting the lives of commuters along this route at risk.
Commuters and locals then demanded that the authorities raise the height of the ramp on the Adpoi-Rassoi ferry route.
“It’s risky to enter with the vehicles in the ferry when water gushes in,” said Umesh Gaonkar, a commuter and called upon the River Navigation Department and Captain of Ports to look into the matter.
Commuters say it is dangerous to travel along this route though it is a shortcut to reach their destination towards Vasco and Ponda and added that the situation gets worse during the high tide at the Zuari river.
