PANJIM: A complaint was filed against the Chief Electrical Engineer Nirmal Braganza Friday, for allowing Junior Engineer Kashinath Shetye to appear and argue matters in the Court on behalf of the Electricity Department.
A complaint has been filed before the Chief Secretary Sanjay Srivastava seeking immediate intervention in the matter.
In his complaint Adv Aires Rodrigues has drawn the attention of the Chief Secretary that Section 33 of the Advocates Act, 1961 mandates that only a person enrolled as an advocate is entitled to practice in the Court or before any other authority.
He has further stated that in rank violation of the law the Chief Electrical Engineer had by a written order authorized Shetye to appear and argue matters in Court on behalf of the electricity department.
The complainant has further ordered withdrawal of the illegal order and demanded stringent action against the officers.
