Advance bails for 7

MARGAO: South Goa Additional District and Session Judge Vandana Tendulkar on Friday passed an order granting anticipatory bail to a total of seven accused persons on two different cases.

MARGAO: South Goa Additional District and Session Judge Vandana Tendulkar on Friday passed an order granting anticipatory bail to a total of seven accused persons on two different cases.
In the first case, Amar Talwardkar of Alto–Porvorim, Flody Coutinho of Borda-Margao, Abdul Kadar Shah of Aquem-Margao, Rafik Sheik of Mugali–Margao and Simon Sathe of Davorlim, were granted anticipatory bail.
The judge in her order directed accused to furnish a personal bail bond of Rs 15,000 and a surety in the like amount. The five accused were further directed to report to Margao police from 10 am to 1 pm from November 23.
The five accused who are charged under sections 341, 394, 201, 120-B of IPC apprehending arrest had moved for anticipatory bail before district court.
Defence lawyer Rajiv Gomes argued before the court that chargesheets are already filed in JMFC, Margao court, with regard to same offence, while public prosecutor Subash Dessai submitted before the court that a thorough probe is required into the crime in view of very serious offences alleged in the complaint.
Jowett D’Souza of Serbatim in a complaint to the Colva police on November 15 stated that on August 6, 2004 unknown recovery agents of ICCI Bank wrongfully restrained him while alighting from his car at Colva church complex and physically assault him with fist blows. He also alleged that accused forcibly took keys of his Hyundai car and took the same.
 While in the second case, Celina D’Souza of Guirdolim, Chandor and Anthony Charles Luis, of Gottugem, Curtorim against whom Maina Curtorim police have registered offence under section 406 for breach of trust  have been granted anticipatory  bail by South Goa Additional District and Sessions Court.
Judge Vandana Tendulkar in her order granting bail to the two accused directed then to give a individual personal bail bond of Rs 25,000 and also a like amount surety further directing them to report to Maina Curtorim police from November 23 for three consecutive days from 10 am to 1 pm.
One Remus Pereira of Cavelossim on October 12 filed a complaint with Maina Curtorim police alleging that accused D’souza and Luis on Augus 26 dishonestly misappropriated gold chain worth Rs 1 lakh belonging to complainant husband thus committing breach of trust. The police had registered offence and investigation is in progress.
