MAPUSA: As a part of precautionary measures in view of Covid-19, the Mapusa Municipal Council on Thursday ordered the food joints in the town to use only disposable items to serve food items to the customers.
The order issued by Chief Officer Clen Madeira states that all the restaurants, eateries, kiosks, juice parlours, food stalls and street food vendors shall use only disposable paper or organic leaf plates, wooden spoons, paper cups and straws to dispense food items and ensure that such plates, spoons, cups and straws are not reused.

The order further states that vendors shall ensure that their cooks, waiters and helpers use facemasks and sanities their hands before cooking and serving food to the customers.
Chief Officer has further directed the Municipal inspectors to seize all unauthorised and illegal handcarts dispensing food items.
