MARGAO: The Shadow Council for Margao has urged the Chief Officer and Chairwoman to issue directions and make provisions for the staff of the Council to wear masks to protect themselves from coming in contact with any form of infection.
Hundreds of people visit the MMC building everyday with no idea whatsoever about their status with respect to Covid-19, thereby making the staff very vulnerable to contracting infections, Shadow Council Convener Savio Coutinho stated.

“A government circular asks the staff to wash their hands frequently with soap, but adequate facilities of wash basins are not available. We request that adequate provisions be made for the MMC staff,” he said.
“Just as the circular suggests that any staff with symptoms of cold, fever etc should stay away from office, it is equally important that the staff members don’t become victims themselves,” Coutinho stated.
