As per the order issued on Tuesday, cyber cafes should prohibit unknown persons and those whose identity has not been established from using their premises. The order states that the owner of the café should maintain a register for identity of the visitor who should enter his details in his/her handwriting and sign it.
The identity of the user shall be established through voter card, driving license, smart card, passport. It asks that the activity server log be preserved for at least six months.
“If any activity of the visitor is of suspicious nature, the owner of cyber café shall immediately inform the nearest police station and the police control room and CCTV camera shall be installed by the owner at the entry point of each cyber café,” it further states.
The order comes till September 15, 2016 .
