VASCO: The people of Gawaliwado-Kesarval ward in Quelossim village panchayat are delighted as they will now be provided with PWD water supply pipeline connection after almost five decades.
Cortalim MLA Anton Vas launched the work of laying water pipeline at an estimated cost of Rs 20 lakh in the presence of Cortalim ZP Merciana Vas, Quelossim panchayat members, PWD officials and others.
Vas said it was a long pending demand of the villagers and added that they will soon receive water from the PWD.
The ward has about 50 to 60 houses belonging to Dhangars community, many of whom are cattle herds.
The community did not have water supply from the PWD, and had to depend on water tankers, or water supply from the Verna Industrial Estate.
