PANJIM: Passengers travelling from Bengaluru to Goa on a Go First flight (flight no G8285) on Wednesday had a harrowing time waiting for their baggage at Dabolim airport.
According to one of the passengers, a foreign national Andre P LeBlanc, the baggage, instead of arriving at the previously announced belt number 4 arrived on all the three other belts 1 to 3 but not on 4 and that too after an hour.
Narrating the sordid incident, LeBlanc in a video message said they travelled from Bengaluru to Goa and after arriving at the Dabolim airport, it was announced that their luggage would arrive at the belt number 4.
He said, “Passengers waited for almost an hour and the baggage came on three different belts but not belt number 4 much to the chagrin of passengers. Everybody was mad and there was nobody (airline officials) to tell our grievances and it was complete shambles.”
He later joked “This is April 13, but maybe April fool is still going on”
Since the airport infrastructure is the first experience that international passengers have in Goa, a tough experience like this is not just a rough start to their trip but also creates a negative image of the land and its facilities.
The least that should be done is to initiate an inquiry into the incident and hold those responsible accountable.
