After consistent growth, drop in State’s GST collection

PANJIM: After a consistent growth, Goa witnessed a drop in Goods and Services Tax (GST) collections, compared to the previous year, in the month of November. 

According to the Union Finance Ministry, Goa’s GST revenue collection for the month of November stood at Rs 447 crore, which is 14 per cent less as compared to the collection of November 2021. Last year, the revenue collection during the month was Rs 518 crore. 

The month of October had recorded a 32 per cent growth in revenue compared to the previous year, with State collection Rs 420 crore.   

In September, State’s GST collection was at 35 per cent higher as against Rs 319 crore of revenue in 2021. This year, the revenue stood at Rs 429 crore.  

In August, the GST revenue collection saw a 32 per cent increase compared to the previous year. This year Rs 376 crore was collected as GST as against Rs 285 crore in August 2021. 

The month of July also recorded 43 per cent growth in GST collection compared to a similar period last year. 

Meanwhile, the country’s gross GST revenue collected in the month of November stood at Rs 1,45,867 crore of which CGST is Rs 25,681 crore, SGST Rs 32,651 crore, IGST Rs 77,103 crore (including Rs 38,635 crores collected on import of goods) and Cess is Rs 10,433 crore.
