After eight days, fair price shop at Kavlem to open today

PONDA: Ten days after the lockdown, the fair price shop at Kavlem will finally open on April 1.

The Kavlem locals and Sarpanch Rajesh Kavlekar have been demanding, since past many days, the opening of the fair price shop, as the people were running helter-skelter to buy essential commodities.

Welcoming the opening of the fair price shop, Kavlekar said that during the last ten days, people faced lot of inconvenience, and “it is better late than never”.

“During the difficult times, our local MLA Ramakrishna (Sudin) Dhavalikar has been helping the needy people. And I myself am working continuously to help the villagers,” he said.

Kavlekar appealed the people to buy the commodities by observing social distancing of at least one meter.

Meanwhile, the fair price shop operator said that three months ration quota would be distributed to the card holders.
