Ponda/quepem: The election campaign across Quepem and Ponda taluka has been lukewarm in comparison to previous election campaigns.
Given the then lockdown, the prevailing COVID pandemic and lack of time and permissions for candidates to campaign again after the new date for the polls were suddenly announced, there is a fear that there has been enough done to create awareness amongst the voters about the elections or to convey to them the candidates plans. Given the safety concerns, candidates also are hoping a large number of voters do turn up on Saturday.
Eight months ago, candidates had campaigned and distributed pamphlets containing their symbols and if they are contesting on party lines or as independents etc, but a section of the public say they can’t remember the same.
