PANJIM: After much hue and cry and some amount of confusion due to contradictory circulars issued by the State government, the Directorate of Education (DoE) on Tuesday modified its earlier circular, which now states that all the teaching and non-teaching staff does not need to report to their respective educational institutes anymore.
“In partial modification of circular dated April 22, 2021, it is to inform that all the teaching and non-teaching staff shall not attend their schools with immediate effect until further order,” read the order signed by Director of Education D R Bhagat.
“The work of preparation and declaration of results, so also counselling process and teaching if any, shall be attended by online mode as per pre-decided schedule,” Bhagat added in the order.
It may be recalled that after Chief Minister Pramod Sawant had announced that colleges and schools would be closed till April 30, DoE had issued a circular making it mandatory for the staff to report to their respective educational institutions.
A day prior to this, the General Administration Department (GAD) had issued a circular, which covered aided-institutions including primary, high, middle and higher secondary schools as well, stating that only 50 per cent attendance was required for Group C category officials.
