After long wait, Khadpaband road hot-mixing finally begins

PONDA: The long awaiting hot-mix carpeting of Khadpaband road, from Almeida High School to Friends Colony, was taken up by the Public Works Department (PWD) on Wednesday.

Speaking on the occasion, Ponda MLA Ravi Naik said that the hot-mixing work was delayed due to the ongoing sewerage work.  However, as the sewerage work at Khadpaband was ready, hot-mix carpeting on the said road was taken up on priority basis.

The Khadpaband main road condition had worsened due to long pending sewerage work. Vehicles and pedestrians were facing hardship as it took almost five years for the sewerage work to get completed.

“We are also trying to hot-mix all the roads in and around Ponda before monsoon,” informed Ravi.

PMC Chairperson Vishwanath Dalvi, councillor Ritesh Naik, Anand Naik, William Augiar and PWD officials were also present.
