PANJIM: After announcing candidate for South Goa constituency for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Saturday said that the party is with Congress and will give best solution to the State.
Speaking to reporters, AAP State convenor Adv Amit Palekar said that the party is working out the best possible candidate for Goa as Indian National Developmental Inclusive Alliance (INDIA) Bloc is going to come with full best solution for Goa.
“Even the AAP is preparing itself for 2027 Assembly elections as well. We have announced the candidate but we will find the best solution for Goa and Goans to represent them in the Lok Sabha,” he said.
Adv Palekar said, “I cannot say what is going to be in the future but we are going to contest the elections as Indian National Developmental Inclusive Alliance (INDIA) Bloc. There is no need of confusion. We are with the INDIA alliance.
To a question, Adv Palekar claimed the Congress and AAP were together and are going to be together in the future as well.
Interestingly, four days back, the AAP announced Benaulim MLA Venzy Viegas as its candidate for the South Goa Parliamentary constituency.
Announcing the candidate, Adv Palekar had hoped that INDIA Bloc would accept their decision to field Viegas from South Goa seat.
”We are part of the INDIA Bloc and will fight as INDIA Bloc,” he had said.
When contacted, Benaulim MLA Venzy Viegas said, “People of Benaulim and Goa have given me a chance to serve them. Now it is up to the alliance partner to present a better face if they have. MPs work has never been known here. We always talk about MLAs and State Ministers but never speak about MPs from here because nothing happens. Let us wait for the alliance partners to take a decision.”
