This was informed by Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant during a programme organised by the EDC in city on Thursday.
The Chief Minister said, “Currently 17 women are learning autorickshaw driving, a project started by the Rotary Club with the support of government and they will soon hit the road. These women will be provided loans to purchase vehicles under the Chief Minister’s Rozgar Yojana (CMRY) implemented by the State’s premier financial institution — Economic Development Corporation Ltd (EDC).
Congratulating the EDC for making profits, the Chief Minister said that it is the only government company consistently making profits for the last three years and hoped that the other State-owned Corporation will too make profits and become self-reliant.
