MARGAO: Cuncolim MLA Clafacio Dias on Friday inspected the railway line and areas around it to check on the work that is going on for laying of double tracking.
While inspecting the sites along with some non government organisations (NGOs), the MLA said that he opposes coal hub in the State and would resign if need arises.
He said that some church land has been grabbed allegedly without proper land acquisition process.
“This is not correct. I will move a note and request the Chief Minister to stop the work of South Western Railway at Chandor,” he said.
While committing his support to the agitation against coal being brought in Goa, Clafacio said, “I have been already notified by the Opposition parties about the coal transportation through Goa. I have informed the same to the Chief Minister.”
“I oppose the same and support the people and their demands. Even if I have to resign, I will do so but will continue to give my support to the people,” he added
