PANJIM: The villagers of Agasaim on Thursday staged protest to demand bus stop in front of the police station.
The villagers under the banner of Road Safety and Traffic Management Committee of the St Lawrence (Agasaim) village panchayat, staged protest below the new Zuari bridge demanding restarting of the KTC bus service and the bus stop.
The villagers said that the senior citizens, office-goers and students in particular were facing difficulties due to no bus stop near the Agasaim. The bus stop was a requirement, the villagers said.
The villagers had also submitted a letter to the village panchayat regarding the inconvenience caused to the residents and the school going children.
The panchayat too wrote to the Transport Minister Mauvin Godinho and the Deputy Director of Transport but no steps were taken, the villagers said.
