MARGAO: Asserting that the private bus operators have been left confused over the government’s purported offer of running private buses on kilometre basis, the All Goa Private Bus Owners Association said it will take a call on the issue only when the government unveils the scheme before the operators.
Association President Shailendra Faldessai said the private bus operators are a confused because neither the government nor the Transport Director has come out with any scheme for the private bus operators to run private buses on kilometre basis. “We have come to know about the scheme only through the media. There are some operators who have welcomed the scheme, but no one knows for sure what it is all about. Let the Transport Director or the government unveil the scheme for comments from the bus owners,” Faldessai told the media, while demanding that the government should take all bus owners and associations into confidence and not just a select few.
While making a plea to the rival association not to create confusion amongst the bus operators, Faldessai said AGPBOA had been working in the interest of bus owners.
