MARGAO: District Collector N D Agrawal on Thursday capped his inquiry into the construction activities carried out by Ms Goa Shipyard Ltd in Vasco after hearing shipyard officials and representatives of the local residents.
Agrawal informed after the meeting that he would submit his findings to the government at the earliest after having heard both the parties in his chamber on Thursday.
He pointed out that his office has received the necessary documents, besides the status report from the surveyor appointed to go into the ground reality at the construction site.
The district Collector was instructed to hold a meting with the agitating residents of Vollant Bounter and officials of Ms Goa Shipyard Ltd and report back to the government at the earliest.
The agitating residents had been demanded action in the matter, claiming that Ms Goa Shipyard Limited was undertaking construction activities such dredging, piling, besides blocking the traditional access of the local fishermen.
They had further alleged that the local residents were warned of action for “trespassing” into the area and accused the officials of denying them the right to anchor fishing boats.
