MARGAO: All Goa Unaided Schools Parents Association (AGUSPA), a registered body affiliated with All India Parents Association (AIPA), has sought the intervention of Education Minister and Director of Education in the problems faced by parents of children studying in unaided schools.
AGUSPA spokesperson said during the Covid pandemic they have witnessed income of parents having drastically reduced or in some cases come to a standstill. Also schools as well as many other institutions are completely closed.
However, despite the crisis the spokesperson said it is unfortunate to see private schools “being rigid with payment of fees.”
“By using unfair and stubborn methods the schools have denied relief to thousands of parents in Goa who are affected by the pandemic and whose children are at home but are asked to pay full fees,” the spokesperson said.
“We are in communication with Education Minister/Chief Minister and Director of Education seeking urgent appointments, to resolve and discuss several issues. We hope to get an appointment with them at the earliest to help resolve the crisis at the earliest,” said the spokesperson.
