MARGAO: Ahmedabad-based waste consultant, P U Asnani will visit Sonsodo on Sunday, with the Margao Municipal Council finally clearing the roadblock for his return to the city to assist the Civic body in waste management.
Asnani will make his presence felt at Sonsodo on Sunday morning and is expected to take stock of the situation at the site with Fomento Green commissioning the waste treatment plant from December.
Sources in the know said that Asnani will hold a power point presentation on the Sonsodo waste treatment plant.
Asnani’s visit assumes importance since his appointment as consultant was cleared by the Civic body only last week following the intervention of the High Powered Committee headed by Chief Minister, Manohar Parrikar.
The Civic body had earlier resolved to scrap the appointment of Asnani as consultant, but later yielded following the intervention of the high powered committee, which had directed the Municipality to enter into an agreement with the Ahmedabad-based consultant for a year.
