PANJIM: Ahead of revamping of the organisation, the All India Congress Committee (AICC) on Monday reconstituted party’s media department in Goa under the chairmanship of Amarnath Panjikar.
Also outgoing media department convenor Trajano D’Mello has been promoted as the media panellist, who will co-ordinate with national media. He will also be party senior spokesman.
Newly appointed chairman Amarnath Panjikar has been relived from his current responsibility of Goa Pradesh Congress Committee (GPCC) general secretary in line with “one man one post” criteria.
The first media panellist in Goa Trajano is a senior spokesperson of the party and is a known political strategist.
Barring architect Tulio de Souza, who was also a part of the outgoing media team, the new entrants are senior journalist Mahadev Khandekar, advocate Shrinivas Khalap, Dr Ashish Kamat, Altone D’Costa and Pallavi Bhagat.
The party had recently appointed youth leader Himanshu Tivrekar as the social media incharge of Goa in an attempt to reach out to the young generation. Campaign against the frequent rising fuel prices received overwhelming response from all across the country, informed GPCC President Chodankar.
