PANJIM: Advocate Aires Rodrigues, facing charges of sexual harassment, deposed before the Old Goa police on Saturday in a counter complaint he filed against the victim of sexual harassment and three others for assault.
After recording his statement in his complaint, Rodrigues stated that he has given further details and the description of the four persons who had barged into his office at Ribandar on November 27.
Rodrigues had lodged a counter complaint against the victim of alleged sexual harassment, her husband and two unknown men ‘for forming an unlawful assembly, criminally trespassing into his office, assaulting him after having threatened and abused him besides throwing an ink bottle on his body’.
At around 8.30 am on Monday, the foursome, including the victim, had confronted Rodrigues over posts circulated on social media, and thereafter hurled a bottle of ink on him. The video of the confrontation, which has gone viral, shows Rodrigues attempting to escape and entering into a shop seeking shelter.
He is facing charges of sexual harassment and defamation of character following a complaint at Anjuna police station accusing him of circulating on Facebook and Whatsapp alleged video footage linking a married woman with Water Resources Minister Vinod Palyekar.
