Adv Rodrigues urged the governor to order a detailed and impartial probe into the financial irregularities and illegalities allegedly committed by Deshpande. Briefing the media after meeting the governor, Rodrigues said that the probe should be above board and the officers shielding Deshpande should be held culpable and punished.
Rodrigues submitted a memorandum to the governor and stated that the ‘high-handed attempt by the authorities to unduly shelter Deshpande runs clearly contrary to the much prophesied mantra of this government on zero tolerance to corruption’.
“Gross misdeeds by Deshpande as Principal of PTS cannot be allowed to be pushed under the carpet and every paisa spent from the State exchequer must be accounted for and spent strictly in accordance with the law,” Rodrigues said.

‘Attending assembly not Mickky’s right’
In a memorandum to Governor Mridula Sinha, advocate Aires Rodrigues submitted that attending the monsoon session of the Goa Legislative Assembly is not a matter of right for former minister and MLA Francisco (Mickky) Pacheco.
Rodrigues told the Governor that Speaker Rajendra Arlekar has to act within the parameters of the law and legislative precedents. In his memorandum he has alleged that Pacheco, being a political heavy weight, the government is clearly conniving and colluding with him to derail the due process of law from taking course by trying to give him the benefit of pardon under Article 161 of the Constitution.
