PANJIM: Crime Branch (CB) has directed Advocate Aires Rodrigues to appear before it on Friday for questioning in a three-year-old complaint questioning his nationality. A senior officer said Rodrigues was issued summons to appear for questioning at 11 am.
The case pertains to a complaint filed by Calvert Gonsalves claiming that Rodrigues is a Portuguese national. He had supported his complaint with documentary evidence.
“Advocate Aires Antonio Miranda Rodrigues, 56 years, from Ribandar and his birth was registered in the Central Registry of Births, Marriage and Deaths of Lisbon, Portugal as Assento de Nascimento on November 2, 1987. After the registration of his birth at Lisbon, Portugal, has obtained various Portuguese citizen cards that is Bilhete de Identidade (Identity Card) and Cartao de Cidadao (Citizen Card),” he had stated. Rodrigues had denied of being a Portuguese national.
