VASCO: Upset with the decision of Airport Authority of India officials to renew entry passes temporarily, the ground handling staff at Dabolim airport have threatened to go on strike on March 30, the day their passes expire.
Several private companies providing ground handling services at Dabolim airport had intimated, well in advance, to the AAI authorities to renew the entry passes of their staff as the existing permit expires on March 30. However, in response, AAI decided to renew entry passes on a temporary basis and that too for a period of next two to three days. Upset with the same, ground handling agencies refused to accept the proposal and now uncertainty over smooth ground handling operations looms large from Thursday.
