MAPUSA: Nachinola Sarpanch Trupti Bandolkar on Monday imposed a fine of Rs 5,000 on former cricketer Ajay Jadeja for allegedly dumping garbage bag along the roadside in the jurisdiction of Nachinola Village Panchayat.
Few months back, Jadeja bought a bungalow at Aldona and is presently residing there with his family. During this time span, he was allegedly found dumping a garbage bag by the roadside in the jurisdiction of Nachinola village and violating the garbage dumping norms.
Nachinola sarpanch as well as the garbage committee of Nachinola were pressured and asked not to take any action but the active sarpanch of Nachinola acting on the matter, fined Jadeja.
It may be recalled that Nachinola Village Panchayat and youth from the village while collecting the roadside garbage, saw the dumped garbage bags. Upon inquiry, the youth found a bill in the name of former cricketer, based on the bill details, the Panchayat imposed fine.
