Alarming Surge in Dengue Cases Spurs Urgent Action in Mapusa

In the Mapusa area, a concerning spike in dengue cases has been reported with 16 confirmed cases in August alone. Health Officer Dr. Sheral Desouza attributes the rise in cases to stagnant water in the vicinity, which serves as a breeding ground for disease-carrying mosquitoes. He specifically highlighted the stagnant water near the Karaswada junction, emphasizing the potential danger it poses to the local population.

Efforts to eliminate such breeding sites and raise public awareness about dengue prevention are crucial in combating the spread of the disease. Health authorities are urging residents to take proactive measures to reduce stagnant water and prevent dengue outbreaks.
