Aldona PHC reports 36 suspected dengue cases; no crisis, says Health Officer

A recent surge in dengue cases within the jurisdiction of Aldona Primary Health Centre (PHC) has raised concerns among village residents. However, Health Officer Dr Roshan Nazareth has reassured the community that the situation is not in crisis mode.

From January to July of this year, Aldona PHC reported 36 suspected dengue cases, with seven confirmed cases. However, in just the span of one month, August, there was a sudden spike with 20 suspected dengue cases, out of which only two were confirmed.

Dr Roshan Nazareth credited the diligent efforts of the PHC staff for bringing the situation under control. They have been conducting regular anti-container drives over the weekends, focusing on areas where containers are most prevalent. He emphasized that there is currently no crisis, and with continued efforts to eliminate mosquito larvae, the aim is to prevent any further dengue cases.
