PANJIM: In a major setback to Goa Police, the North District & Sessions Court has discharged all nine persons accused of an attack on LPK waterfront night club at Nerul in August 2013.
The police had charged prime accused Zenito Cardozo, co-accused Domnic Nazareth, Jayesh Chodankar, Rupesh Gedekar, Umesh Pujar, Parimal Pandit, Sandeep Pujari, Ritesh Narvekar and Rohan Vaigankar for vandalinsing the club, assaulting the club staffers and robbing the club’s articles. The court, however, discharged all the accused at the stage of framing of charges.
As per the charge sheet, in a daylight attack, some 20 masked men came riding on two-wheelers to LPK Waterfront at around 12.30 pm and ransacked the place after allegedly beating up and tying the security at the gate.
