PANJIM: Congress on Friday alleged that Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar’s meeting with his cabinet ministers at AIIMS, Delhi is a political drama to project that the government is stable and exists.
“The cabinet ministers meeting Chief Minister in Delhi is a political drama created by CM and his cronies to project a picture that government exists,” Congress President Girish Chodankar said.
“There is a virtual pause on governance for the last more than nine months. Chief Minister by holding meeting of cabinet ministers at AIIMS in Delhi has proved that the government has failed,” he added.
Chodankar said it is unfortunate that the ministers have to travel all the way to Delhi to meet the chief minister. “What is painful is that there is no certainty as till when such exercise of Delhi visits will continue and people of Goa will continue to suffer,” he said.
The party has reiterated its demand that Governor Mridula Sinha should listen to the voice of the people of Goa and opposition parties and allow Congress to prove their numbers on the floor of the House,
“BJP President Vinay Tendulkar’s acceptance that the government has lost majority due to three MLAs in hospital, is itself is strong ground for the Governor to call for a special session directing the CM to prove his majority,” the Congress leader stated.
