All Calangute roads to be illuminated

Calangute Panchayat has begun work to illuminate the widened road from Umtta Vaddo to Khobra Vaddo, Calangute, in view of the tourist season.
“We have purchased latest design lamps costing Rs 7,000 for the purpose and will install them all along the busy Calangute-Baga road. We will also illuminate the interior roads of the villages once the roads are re-done or tarred,” informed Joseph Sequeira.
“We have lot of developmental plans for our Calangute and will continue with the co-operation of the villagers,” added Sequeira.
Meanwhile, Sequeira has expressed satisfaction over road widening from Calangute Association to Hotel Charlston terming it as per his plans with a total width of 14 mtrs. “I too had demanded a 15meter wide road with footpath, service bay and road. It is immaterial who does it, but what matters most is development,” he said.
