All Goa Narkasur effigy contest results declared

MARGAO:  The Narkasur effigy prepared by Gajanan Yuvak Mandal, Aquem Margao was adjudged the best and awarded the first prize of Rs 35,555 at the 23rd All Goa Shrikrishna Haste Narkasur Vadh Competition organized by Solid Party Trust on November 5.
In all, 23 groups participated in the competition that was held not only for the Narkasur Effigy but also for Shri Krishna. Omkar Houshi Mandal walked away with the prize of Rs 5,555 for the best Krishna.
The other winners of Narkasur contest are: Naguesh Youth Club (second prize of Rs. 25,555), Sai Yuva Mandal (third prize of Rs 1,888). Hari Om Hari from Margao bagged the first consolation prize of Rs 5,555, the second consolation prize of Rs 4,444 went to Omkar Houshi Mandal.
The other winners in the Krishna contest were: second prize of Rs 4,444 – Shree Krishna Kala Mandal, third prize of Rs 3,333 – Bal Houshi Mandal while the first consolation prize of Rs 2,020 went to Hari Om Hari the second consolation prize of Rs 1,515 went to Shiv Kamakshi Mahamaya from Shiroda.
Gajanan Yuvak Mandal won a prize of Rs 5,050 for the best music while the special attraction award of Rs 5,050 went to Assambhav Boys from Margao and the Narkasur prepared by Shiv Kamakshi Mahamaya Houshi Mandal, Shiroda won the prize of Rs 5,050 for the Mahasound Unique Narkasur.
While Prashant Ghotge compered the programme Sudesh Nagvenkar proposed the vote of thanks. South Goa MP Narendra Sawaikar, Margao MLA Digambar Kamat and councilors Raju Shirodkar and Majoj Masurkar attended the programme.
RANGOLI COMPETITION: Meanwhile, Solid Party Trust will organise its 22nd Rangoli competition on the occasion of Dindi festival at Margao on November 21 at the Agakhan Park in the Margao Municipal Council garden.
The competition will be held in two categories namely juniors for those aged below 15 years and seniors for those aged above 15 years.
Rs 3000, Rs, 2000 and Rs 1500 will be given as the first three prizes in the junior category; there will be two consolation prizes of Rs 1000 each. In the senior category, Rs 5000, Rs 4000 and Rs 3000 will be given to the first three winners, while two consolation prizes of Rs 1500 each will also be handed over.
This year two prizes of Rs 2000 and Rs 1500 will be awarded to the those who prepare the best Indian Traditional Rangoli.
