PANJIM: Chief Minister Pramod Sawant on Friday said that all constructions which had sprouted in the Mayem Evacuee Property after 2014, will be demolished by the government.
Sawant alleged that two-three middlemen had started developing plots in the land and selling them.

“The properties being now considered as government property, selling of the land in the Evacuee property will not be permitted and fresh constructions built there will be demolished for sure,” the Chief Minister said.
The Chief Minister warned people buying property at Mayem to ensure that they are not buying land in the Evacuee Property. He also informed that 700 of the 812-odd legacy Evacuee Property cases had been cleared those pending are due to lack of proper documents. The residents have been asked to do case wise representation, he added.
To a question, Sawant informed that no decision had been taken about the evacuee agricultural land as of now. For Agriculture land, as many as six documents are required. After looking at the related files and considering the interests of the people, positive decision will be taken in the matter, he said.

Sawant chaired a high-level review meeting about the proposed Rs 250 crore bridge project. Sawant said that he has directed the officials to expedite the process for land acquisition, approvals, project execution and also submit monthly progress report.
Tourism Minister Rohan Khaunte, MayemMLA PremendraShet, Secretary (Revenue),North Goa Collector, PWD chief engineer, former Chodan-Madel sarpanch Premanand Mhambre and others were present.
