MARGAO: Sharply retorting to the allegations made by Caetano Vaz, Sarpanch Village Panchayat Macazana pertaining to alleged landfilling and construction of retaining wall inside the lake, Rock Carvalho called the statements purely baseless, having malicious intent.
Speaking to Herald, he also said that the Sarpanch has no single piece of evidence against him that illegal landfilling has been carried out and construction of a retaining wall in the lake.
“The alleged illegal landfilling and construction of retaining wall is actually not located in the lake as alleged by Sarpanch”, he said, reacting to a Herald report published on Wednesday. Carvalho further claimed that there is no stop-work notice issued to him as stated by Sarpanch.
“The Sarpanch of Village Panchayat Macazana has informed all concerned authorities to take appropriate action. But no illegalities have been proven against me. The complaint has no substance as the village Sarpanch of Macazana is acting very irresponsibly, despite holding respectable positions and stating biased statements. He is misusing his position,” said Carvalho.
He further alleged that Sarpanch is purely fulfilling his personal agenda against him without any support from documentary evidence.
