PONDA: The Goa Dairy Managing Director (MD) Anil Fadte on Friday levelled allegations against four former chairmen saying that during the past eight years they along with some officials committed scam in Goa Dairy to the tune of Rs 14 crore.

Fadte while addressing the media persons informed that these chairmen received commissions while purchasing buffalo milk at higher rates and procuring raw material for cattle including feed, optigen and cotton seed.

“We are collecting documents in this regard and based on his complaint Registrar of Co-Operative Society will conduct an inquiry.”

He said, “The scam by former chairmen took place in past two consecutive terms of Board of Directors (each term of five years). However, the Goa Dairy BoD approved quotation of highest bidder for purchasing buffalo milk by allegedly getting kickbacks of Rs 69 lakh.”

“Similarly, there was scam of around Rs 1.34 crore in purchase of optigen where the lower quotation of Rs 25 to Rs 30 kg was sidelined and it was purchased at the price of Rs 150 per kg which even reduced milk production capacity of the cattle. There were also discrepancies in buying urea, cotton seed to tune of Rs 3.39 crore and also purchase of cattle feed,” Fadte added.
