PANJIM: Aam Aadmi Party Joint Secretary and former chairperson of Quepem Municipal Council Raul Pereira on Saturday alleged that the BJP government inaugurated an unfinished municipal market in Quepem so that Deputy Chief Minister Chandrakant Babu Kavalekar could take the credit. He stated that he initiated the market work after being elected as a chairperson for the fifth time. He said, “In order to complete the Quepem Market Complex, I was the one who sought financial approval from former chief minister late Manohar Parrikar. As the Assembly elections approach, the incumbent Deputy Chief Minister who hasn’t worked for the betterment of Quepem people is now trying to take credit for my accomplishment.” He said, “When the building was in a dilapidated condition, I took the initiative to relocate the traders. Kavalekar did not help me at that time. I had rehabilitated them with the help of another minister.”
