PORVORIM: There has been no time frame fixed for the finalization of the Regional Plan 2021, Deputy Chief Minister Francis D’Souza told the Legislative Assembly on Friday.
In the first phase the Regional Plan 2021 for Sattari and Canacona taluka would be finalised, D’Souza, who is also Minister for Town and Country Planning (TCP) said.
He said that the government has already initiated the process of rectifying the RP 21 starting with Sattari and Canacona talukas. “The plan will be finalised taluka-wise after considering comments/ rectifications, which is a time consuming process,” he said.
The Minister was replying to the question tabled by Leader of the Opposition Pratapsingh Rane and Congress MLA Vishwajit Rane who sought to know whether any time frame has been fixed to finalise the land plan.
“No specific time-frame is fixed, as comments or rectifications received are being forwarded to the respective taluka offices for their inputs, after conducting necessary site inspections. The State Level Committee (SLC) will decide further based on the inputs received from respective taluka offices,” D’Souza informed the House.
Replying to a similar question tabled by Congress MLA Aleixo Reginaldo Lourenco, the Minister said that RP 2021 is currently in force.
Strictly speaking it is, because the 2021 plan has never been formally de-notified or even kept in abeyance but an Assembly assurance that every project will have to pass “both tests” of RP 2001 and RP 2021 is what the status of the plan really is. An ancient 2001 plan is being paired with RP 2021.
