MARGAO: “Amchim Follam” won the first prize in the traditional category at the carnival float parade held at Margao on Sunday.
The second prize went to Piety Boys from Calangute for “Phoenix and Green Gardens”, while the third prize was awarded to “Viva Sao Joao” by Stars of Ponda.
Chandor Boys’ “Goan cane weavers” bagged the fourth prize and the fifth place went to CAC Boys, Loutolim for “Goencho Tinto”.
Blazio Rebello won the first prize in the clown/joker category followed by Ramchandra Gaonkar, Unimek Boys Mapusa, Anthony Fernandes and Sancho Fernandes bagging the remaining prizes.
Consolation prizes went to Corona Boys’ Clown and Anti Covodians Fatorda for their COVID precautions.
In the family category, the first prize went to Indian Army from Guirdolim for “Save the nation” while “Real Super Heroes” by Thomas Boys Cortalim bagged the second prize.
The third place went to Joseph Rodrigues from Benaulim for “The Elephant” while the fourth prize was awarded to Khobra Vaddo Calangute for “Goencho Combo”. In the fun/junk car category, Monster Car won the first prize followed by Jolly Family of Mapusa, T Birds, COVID 19 Warriors and Aquem Boys. Consolation prizes were awarded to David Fernandes, Margao Boys and Reginaldo Fernandes.
In the Club/Institution category Madar Youth Club Benaulim won the first prize for “Missing Animals” while the Jimmy Boys Calangute bagged the second place for “Black Panther”.
The third place went to 777 Boys Mapusa for “Albino Hawk” while the fourth place was awarded to CAC Boys Loutolim for “Save the Earth”. Sakwoo Boys from Mapusa bagged the fifth place for “Goencho Combo”.
Consolation prizes awarded to Mix Friends Cansaulim for “Shark”, Lion Heads Seraulim for “Lady from Goa and Tamesh & Friends Mugalli Curtorim for “Clowns and Joker”.
