MARGAO: The festive occasion of Eid was celebrated with great solemnity in Salcete villages, including within the jurisdiction of the Maina-Curtorim Police Station. Muslim brethren offered Namaz at various mosques in the morning and later visited friends and family members to exchange greetings.
On this auspicious day, delicious dishes, sweets, and kheer were shared and enjoyed among the community members.
The Curtorim Police stated that Eid was celebrated peacefully, and no untoward incidents were reported in the tense areas like Rumdamol-Davorlim.
Similar peaceful celebrations took place in Margao, Cuncolim, and Fatorda. Prayers were held, and Muslim brothers greeted each other by visiting homes and exchanging warm wishes.
