BICHOLIM: In a case of utter neglect, the concerned authorities have left a chamber open at old bus stand in Bicholim, which has turned into a death trap for commuters.
It may recalled that the lid of the chamber was broken and some people had kept a wooden danda and had place a cement bag on it. Stones too were placed near the chamber. On Wednesday, the locals saw that the lid was missing and chamber was left open.
“This is a major road and there is lot of traffic along the stretch. It is surprising that the authorities have not done anything here since last 3-4 days and today it is kept open, which is dangerous,” Mahesh Govenkar, a local said.
